Picard

Suffice it to say, I forget to say everything I have to say when it comes time for the saying.
Yesterday was The Midterm. For the past two weeks I have been seriously sweating this midterm. It was in Modern Literary Theory and Criticism (or whatever that class is called). Last week I had a speech and a speech midterm, so I kinda put off writing the two essays that I had to turn in before the test until this weekend. As a matter of fact, I spent my Friday night studying... hardcore studying, and I was still doing so yesterday morning.
I went in to the exam and am a little disappointed in my performance.
First of all, I think I did okay on my critical terms section, where we had to identify 5 and write about each.
Secondly, was passage ID, and I picked out the five passages I knew best and wrote about four of them. The fifth was from Wordsworth's Preface to Lyrical Ballads, which I now know... but Dr. Lowe had just announced that we were over an hour in and I still had two essays to write, so I panicked, and since I had no idea what Wordsworth's body of work was, I had no choice but to identify Alexander Pope's An Essay on Criticism... which I got right, but I KNOW my explanation of the passage was wrong. And beyond that, I think I misstated Burke's book. Because the title was ridiculously long. And no, I won't tell you what it is, because I don't wanna look at it and see how wrong I am on the exam... I'm just trying to forget about it.
THEN, I ran out of time on the essay portion. They were each 3.5 pages, but only because of a lot of fast writing and bullshitting. I just say all this because it was the hardest exam I've taken in college so far (within my own subject area, at least) AND it gives some insight into why I was feeling however I was feeling.
I got out of the exam to a text message that said "Picard is gone gone"... Heath said he thought the kitty got out. Well, that sucks, and I started feeling bad about saying he is such a terrible kitty. I called Heath trying to offer hope as Heath is telling me that he left the door ajar last night and Sadie pushed it open and no more kitty after that. So, as I'm on the phone with Heath, Picard emerges from under the house, where he spent the night. Whew.

I'm glad he is home!!!

And, I have one more midterm this week... on Thursday (for which I am not well prepared) and I am so ready for a BREAK.

whew.

Anywho, that's all.
